The Power of Small Acts of Faith

Hey friends,
Have you ever felt like you need to do something big to make a difference for God? Maybe you’ve thought your faith isn’t “enough” unless you’re leading a ministry or sharing the gospel on a grand stage. I get it—I’ve been there! But today, I want to remind you of something beautiful: God delights in the small, faithful acts we do with love. Those little moments—like praying for a neighbor or offering a kind word—shine His light in ways we may never fully see.
Jesus Himself said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me” (Matthew 25:40, NIV). That cup of coffee you dropped off for a tired coworker? That quick text to check on a friend? Those are acts of worship, reflecting God’s love to the world.
I’ll never forget a time when a small gesture changed my perspective. Quite a few years ago, I was at Disney when my daughter was young—you know, the stressful but fun theme park, everything was extra loud, and I was just exhausted. I was exiting the restroom, feeling overwhelmed, when a stranger in line noticed my frazzled face. She smiled, and said, “Jesus loves you—it’s going to be okay.” That tiny act of kindness felt like an instant hug from Jesus, and it reminded me I wasn’t alone. Her small act of faith lifted my spirit and inspired me to spread extra kindness the rest of the trip.
The Bible encourages us to keep going with these small acts: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9, NIV). Every prayer you whisper, every encouraging note you write, every moment you show up with love—it matters. God sees it, and He’s using it to build His kingdom, one heart at a time.
So, here’s my challenge for you: This week, do one small act of faith. It could be praying for a neighbor, leaving a kind note for your mail carrier, or sharing an encouraging verse with a friend. Whatever it is, do it with love, trusting God will use it. Then, share your story with me! Tag me on Instagram (nxtdrgrl.ndg) or Twitter (@cmgrafmiller) or drop a comment below—I’d love to celebrate how God is moving through you.
Let’s keep shining His light, one small act at a time. You’ve got this, and God’s got you.
With love,
Christi
