A Miracle in Our Midst: Welcoming a New Baby to the Family

Today, my heart is overflowing. There’s a new little soul in our family—a baby, fresh from God’s hands, with tiny fingers and a cry that I am sure somehow sounds like a song. I've been looking at his sweet face in pictures, marveling at how something so small can carry such big wonder. It’s a miracle, plain and simple, and I can’t stop whispering prayers of thanks.
The Bible says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him” (Psalm 127:3). Looking at this little one, that verse feels alive. Every coo, every sleepy yawn—it’s a gift that no one can earn, just pure grace wrapped in a blanket. I keep thinking about how God knits us together, how He knew this baby before a single breath was taken (Psalm 139:13). It’s humbling, isn’t it? To see His handiwork in ten perfect toes, ten perfect fingers and eyes that already seem to hold a spark of eternity.
I’ve said a prayer over this child. “Lord, let Your peace cover them. Guide their steps. Fill their days with Your love.” There’s something sacred about praying for a new life—it’s like partnering with God in a quiet, holy way. I picture him growing up with faith as his foundation, leaning on verses like Proverbs 22:6—“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” That’s my hope, my prayer, for this tiny family member.
Their house will feel different now—louder, messier, but so full of joy. Sleep will be a little scarce, and they will learn to cherish coffee like it’s a food group. But every middle-of-the-night wake-up is a chance to whisper another blessing. “The Lord bless you and keep you” (Numbers 6:24)—make it in to a lullaby.
I can’t help but feel inspired, too. This little one’s a reminder of new beginnings, of how God makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). It’s not just about their arrival—it’s about what they stir in us. Hope. Purpose. A call to lean harder into faith. I’m imagining the stories they will tell them—David and Goliath, Esther’s courage, Jesus welcoming the children—and praying those truths take root in their heart.
So, here’s to our newest family member: a bundle of answered prayers, a living testament to God’s goodness. I’m grateful beyond words, and I’m holding tight to this joy in my heart. If you’re reading this, would you say a quick prayer for our family's new little one? For health, joy, and a life wrapped in God’s light? We’d be so thankful.
This is family—this is faith—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
In Christ,
